::Mud and mooncakes
Had the usual mid-autumn thing, something that most people my age don't do anymore. This year, it was lanterns, sparklers, bikes and Bishan park.
The place we chose had been previously taken by some people who left candles all over the stones and somehow, one of their candles had set the tree on fire. Hippie sister extinguished flame immediately. Evidently, they also left some shit too, cause there was some kind of shit smell hanging around the candles. We decided not to borrow their candles and set up our "camp" on the kerb instead. It was stupidly tiny, like 7 candles or what, cause we had only 2 and a 1/2 boxes of candles (and enough matches to last us the rest of our lives ><) We wanted to hang our lanterns on the tree, but nobody bought string and anyway, we were all too short, so we ended up festooning our parked bikes with lanterns. Anyway, it looked pretty good.
Then, we played with our sparklers. To save money, my sister had bought the cheapest sparklers. Yes, they were cheap, but unfortunately, they produced so much smoke that we were all like *cough cough hack!* and couldn't see each other. Apart from the smell, it was fun. Really. And they smoke added to the atmosphere somewhat, casting a mysterious gloom on the whole place. Passers-by were irritated by our mysterious (and choking) gloom. Upon seeing our sparklers, a kid exclaimed, "Look! Fireworks!"
When we finished our sparklers and couldn't think of any more ways to amuse ourselves (besides, we were sick of the shit and the mud) we collected our trash (this is the way, people!) and went to ride around the park with our lanterns. The park was not that crowded, which was good, and it looked pretty good too, with all the lanterns and stuff and whatnot. Some family dressed up their bikes with coloured LEDs. Flashy, man. Less people were putting stuff on the water, which was good. Less pollution.
Then we went home, brought more mud into the house, and had mookcakes. Hope you guys had a happy mid-autumn festival too.
