::hai kuo tian kong (Warning: chinese)

海阔天空
Beyond

::Looking for a good time

I can't waste my time
waiting for a sign
I can live all day
all by myself

I can sing my song
living on my own
I can live all night
all by myself

When I feel so blue deep in my mind
When I look around for a good time
I can only hear the music deep inside me

When I feel I'm losing my way
When I look somehow for a nice day
I can only chase the music deep inside me

(When you feel blue and you need to go away
you can always chase the sound inside you
now you can do it
so hear the music and go)

::Let's talk about he.

My new phone. He's a purebred Nokia 7260. Good pedigree. (wtf am I talking about? He's not a horse)

Nokia 7260 (black) from http://www.nokia.com
Mine looks like the one in the link above.

Ok, not bad lah. Comes in 2 colours, black and white. Black one looks nicer. Has my initials (SA) on it. Camera and radio, the normal. There are games, but I haven't played them yet. And according to my ma, Nokia phones emit less radiation, or something. Haven't made or received a call with it so can't tell if voice is clear or not.

Some nice touches: Has chinese. Easy to use interface. Looks chio. Nice funky art deco design. Nice clear radio. Nice responsive five-way joystick thing. Fits in hand and most phone pouches nicely. Nice to hold. Nice colour screen. Video recording, but I haven't figured out how to do it yet.

Some lousy touches: Eats up battery like nobody's business. Few ringtones and they suck (argh). Removing SIM card is irritating. The design of the charger is like....argh, the wire all coiled up next to the plug thingy and it's a pain to uncoil. Silver parts get fingerprinty easily. Camera sort of sucks but most handphone cameras aren't that good anyway. Carrying pouch is pretty useless.

But anyway, he's been a pretty sweet phone so far, and looks and feels good too (in fact, the best part of him is how he looks, and let me tell you, he looks damn good). Quite a good phone for the $$$ and has most of the features you'd expect in a handphone (camera, radio, java, MMS, etc). Not bad so far, and likely to be better.

Let Nokia tell you about him here (same link as previous post).

::O-levels back to haunt me....

O-levels are back to haunt me 25th Feb. I thought they wouldn't, but damn it, I can't say...

I can't say I'm not frightened.

How will I do? Will I have to retake?

I dunno.

I'm excited about my new life, if it comes. But I'm still frightened.

After this, no matter what happens, I will still have to work very very hard.

No more slacking.

::Being unsocial

There are relatives outside. Some pple around my age. As usual, I'm being unsocial and sitting here at my computer blogging. I can't handle people. Especially relatives I don't know. Argh.

Just came back from bai nian-ing. Went to some hse and played with this little kid. We played with a spongebob squarepants soft toy, some beads and a suitcase full of disgusting dead-looking dolls.

I feel weird inside here leh, but I feel even weirder outside there. Damn it, I hate it when people come over. I can't make decent conversation and I don't know how to act pleasant. Damn.

Hopefully my parents won't come in and try to make me act nice. But I told them I was sick so I guess they won't.

And I am sick btw. I've got food poisoning.

::Hikikomori

Hikikomori (Japanese: ひきこもり or 引き篭り) are adolescents and young adults that feel overwhelmed by the Japanese society, feel unable to fulfill their expected social roles, and react with social withdrawal. Hikikomori often refuse to leave their parent's house, and may lock themselves in a single room for months or even years. According to some estimates there may be 1 million hikikomori in Japan, or one out of 10 young men. Most of them are male, and many of them are the eldest son.

No, it's Manage Your Own Business. Manage your own business software. I got the answer from an ad on a bus.

Oh btw, I saw the Gan Cheong King animated thing on tv mobile. It was some Matrix spoof. At the end of it, I was like, huh? It's over? Oh ok. Ummm thanks.

Sorry, I really don't get it.

::I'm a sucker for suckers

(Before you decide that I'm being paid to write this, well surprise, I'm not. Honestly, it's my opinion and based on my own experience. That's all.)

I went with my mother to buy dust bags for a vacuum cleaner from some company building. Why? Cuz these dust bags are so elitist that they don't want to sit in the shops like all the other normal dust bags.

And for good reason too. That time I went there, I saw this (Read his specs here). So sweet. I havent tried it, but I'm pretty sure it must be really good. Cuz it's a Lux. Which means it's Swedish, reliable, has a really (I mean really) powerful motor and enough suction power to beat the crap out of those puny little vacuum cleaners you find at the shops nowadays. And it looks good too.

Unfortunately it also means that it'll probably set me back by about a thousand dollars. Fortunately though, it'll probably outlast and outperform most average store-bought vacuum cleaner (my mom's Lux is older than I am but can kick the ass of our newer vacuum cleaners anytime) . Lux vacuum cleaners are like that. Expensive as hell, but totally worth the money.

And like their dust bags, they're also elitist. So elitist that they won't sit in the shops like other vacuum cleaners. Therefore, one has to visit their building or call them so the salesman can bring one to your house to give you a demo. And the salesmen are really enthusiastic. Really enthusiastic. They wanted to come to our house to give us a demo of their new one, which was fine with me cause I was already was in love with it, but unfortunately we didn't have the money to buy so we had to decline the offer.

Sigh. So sad. I love beautiful, powerful machines.

Visit the Lux Singapore website.

::What happen?

I scraped my finger punching a carpet. Yep. Punching a carpet. Cuz my sis said we need a carpet beater. So I came over and punched the carpet. And then I scraped my finger. Still hurts :(

then my nose itched. so i pinched it so it stop itching. now it hurts.

See? Proof that I got 0.01% brain.

Some pple say, girl must either haf brain or haf looks. I haf neither so.....

Anyway I am going to Singapore Poly open hse. Anyone want to come wif me huh? Saturday 5th Feb.

::Hitler House

Today me sees a guy in a green house t-shirt which says this on the back:

||HITLE||

(those || things are schoolbag straps btw)

Hitler? Hmm.... houses (the school kind, not the kind you live in) are named after famous people. So this one is....oh no.....HITLER HOUSE!!! ??? !!!

So I lean over to my sis and ask, "Hey, does that guy's shirt say 'Hitler'?"

No, turns out it doesn't say Hitler. It says Whitley. w-HITLE-y. Sorry lah, Whitley people.

(thinking that if it were really hitler house, what would the other houses be called? Stalin house? Pol Pot house? Saddam house? Bu...oh scrap that)
